Here’s an experimental podcast I’ve done with Peter Bale, a friend and colleague from my days with Reuters in London.
Peter has worked as an editor and editorial executive at Reuters, the FT Group, CNN, The Times and MSN and is a close observer of the global news and what’s going on here in Aotearoa-NZ. He now writes a weekly summary of the global news that caught his eye for The Spinoff’s members, and has written other articles for The Spinoff here.
He’s now based in Auckland, but has lived over the last 30 years or so in London, Spain, Washington, Sydney and Wellington. He started out at the Evening Post in the 1980s. Here he is with his Renault in Spain.
We chat for about 30 minutes about the big news coming out of China, India, Europe and the United States that we should care about, along with the big things going on politically and economically here this week, including the Government’s pay freeze for public sector workers.
