“Hundreds of millions of Americans are about to have an unexpected collision with planetary reality….” I remember reading Tim Flannery’s explanation of how American weather is turbocharged by those two mountain ranges running north-south along the seaboards and effectively channelling extreme weather the length of the country.

They are in for a wild, insurance-free ride.

Re the lack of action on managed retreat, at the moment in Hawkes Bay at least we still appear to be “advancing” with a proposal to put a 1,000 houses in the low lying swamp at the end of the airport runway. You can only deduce climate idiots are not confined to the US?

I have no doubts that we are heading into a major environmental crisis that will affect everybody over lifetime after lifetime. So examine NZs basic economic position and maybe the current Government is attempting to get on the right track

Insurance premiums will bring the climate to notice, it doesn't seem to be affecting support for Trump in Florida though.
