A Shenzen lockdown will be bad, you think electronics supply chains are pooched now....

I note my local Mobil has removed all the 95 pumps (just 91 and 98 now) assume that 95 came from Marsden Point?

Does the Annual Trade Balance graph seem to indicate that NZ goes positive when there are recessions.

If so bring on another one. The world still has to eat, but we don't need to buy as much junk.

Hi Bernard, at the risk of you banning me, why are you focused on the situation in Ukraine re inflation when as you have said in your podcast, Europe was in financial strife prior to Ukraine. Printing money is not good esp in the long term.

Also Europe put sanctions on Russia re oil and gas. Russia is ok with them buying gas etc as long as it's in Europe. Russia is not responsible for high oil prices. Friendly countries get their oil etc at rather good prices.

AND have you heard of the PIGS countries? They must link back to the prior financial crisis in Europe.

Nice mention of telehealth and primary care at the end - Amazon have been doing some lovely work in that space for a while - tho mostly for their own employees. The scary bit is having Amazon in contact with that much PII and health info....

A few places are doing things like One Medical over here - I work for one - https://tend.nz - Auckland only (yay DHB contracts) for the moment. Only problem is, I can't be a patient (conflict of interest etc), and I REALLY want to be....

Just curious if you've factored in the price of energy to your prediction of another decade of deflationary pressures? Amazon needs a lot of energy to survive / grow their creepy digital services empire, let alone the rest of the economy.

Well look how much of it simply went straight to oil and energy producers over all those years certainly hasn’t trickled down equitably. Mainly hoarded but banks and governments and used to literally buy and explor countries resources for nothing. Corrupt system by the looks.
