Great call outs on the “reducing visibility” that’s going on now, and being planned. It would appear this is becoming “business as normal”.
It’s like watching a stage magician juggling tax cuts with one hand in front of the body, while the other is rapidly shifting and dismantling very important things (Environment) and making other commitments (Aukus II?) in the background.
As a small nation we are reliant on rule of law, robust institutions, and avoidance of corruption. It will be difficult to rely on these things globally when we’re merrily dismantling them at home.
It is easy to get a bit depressed but in a bright-sport, The kaka is fast becoming my go-to for an in-depth, evidence based, rational, analysis of what is happening in our little corner of the world! Keep it up team!
