Bernard & Peter discuss the week’s news with Helen Clark & Robert Patman on geopolitics, AUKUS, the hikoi and the role of media in politics, plus Susan St John on the economy and taxing the NZ Super F
I think we will look back on this week and see it as the time the coalition fractured. Luxon's weak leadership, the powerful hikoi, and Act pouring scorn on the Waikato medical school plan/bribe. Looking fwd to the end of this bunch so we can start to tackle the big issues.
Thank you so much thoroughly enjoyed. An extra half an hour (at least) would be appreciated. I couldn’t watch it all live, when I have tried to get back to resume it was impossible to get the video version via Subtrack, fluffed around within Subtrack, then went into YouTube and that was fine. As I said previously it would be such an asset to see the date of recording alongside all of these. Adored Helen of coarse, always a calm analytical brain informing us so well.
Bernard's soliloquy "this is who we are now" hits hard. Just wanted to share my aroha for Bernard and Peter's comments about the hikoi last week and particularly to Peter's mother attending.
The hikoi was truly remarkable, a day I will never forget. Very proud of all maori and especially proud + grateful of our pakeha friends for standing together with us.
I think the nice thing about the opening to last week's Hoon is that I'm entirely unsurprised at both of your comments. The Kaka is a great community, and it's lovely to see how certain issues intersect and run alongside your kaupapa.
Great show as always, really enjoyed the wide ranging discussions with all guests today.
Great to have the replay on YT.

It was my ex-stepmother-in-law who attended and I admire her immensely. If my mother attended we would all be rather alarmed.
