NZs political theatrics seem so trivial compared to the travesty being committed in Palestine, notwithstanding some MPs are genocide sympathisers.

I understand Peter Bale being exhausted trying to cover the Palestinian genocide but wonder if it’s from conventional narrative being so obviously debunked or through fear of cancellation as so many who have tried to explain through ‘reputable’ media outlets (cough cough) have been (see Chris Hedges Substack). I found a good synopsis on the history of Israel and the drivers of this conflict by Dr Norman Finklestein on Substack and You Tube, and conclude that Israel is definitely not a ‘plucky’ liberal democracy but rather a facist ethnostate guilty of heinous crimes against the Palestinians, but enabled by a spineless Western political sphere and international community in general.

Hard to see how this will end. I don’t think Biden is supplying Israel with military aide and supporting the genocide to have leverage over Netenyahu, he’s just a sick old man. Quite a few Israelis need a trip to The Hague and the key thrown away.

The mention of ‘Maori elites’ is interesting in that when do we ever refer to European (or any other race) elites?!

It's straight out of the republican playbook and I wish (please Bernard!) that journalists wouldn't repeat it. It's bullshit. They applied it to anyone with a university education, worked for the public service etc in the US. But weirdly not to the 1%.
