While I think I can understand Peter’s dismay at the loss of confidence and trust in established media and journalism, I wonder if it ever has held truth to power. Hopefully the younger generation are sourcing honest journalism through social media and if the demise of Newshub portents further collapse in news media in NZ, hopefully something more wholesome rises from the ashes.
I think the media has now the opportunity, which I hope they will take up, to really hold the government to account because it is attacking the people at every turn. All in the name of neoliberalism - the market knows best mantra. That is so so yesterday.
