Bernard Hickey & Peter Bale chat with regular guests Robert Patman & Cathrine Dyer on geopolitics & climate, plus special guest Ed Miller on electricity reform & Marsden Point
Great to have Ed Miller on the show. Starting a new refinery would cost billions and would 600 plus people to operate it. Note that the old plant is planned for biofuel production for export. The Labour government review of the refinery in2022 arrived at a description of the plant as not strategic to our energy security. Add to this the barracking of the investor community for the company to stop refining and limit itself to import and distribution. A far more steady casflow, albeit much smaller.
