Jala was amazing, a great guest. 8:08 Peter it was unnecessary to forewarn of strong opinions on Israel. There is nothing abrasive or insensitive about strong opinions on a rogue, late stage apartheid, Jewish-supremacist state wholeheartedly engaged in mass murderer and max destruction and doing it's best to drag the USA into a war with the wider region! The more that hear her message and form strong opinions of their own the better!
Hoon was wonderful. So important to restate that the US is not supporting intl law, the impact of that, our collective role in calling that out, and the significance as we in NZ get closer to US in defence. Fantastic analysis of NZ infrastructure woes, the 'suspended animation', its impact, and how to ameliorate this scenario. etc Addressing causality and calling a spade a spade in intelligent discussions like this gives me hope that fora like this have a ripple effect, and may encourage those in power to act more wisely and contribute to better solutions. Millenial here. Robert is 110% correct about about sentiment to Palestine. I think a lot of people my age have always been a bit suspect about US foreign policy (seeing the invasion of Iraq as children & then Afghanistan as teens), but seeing this play out over the better part of A YEAR has seriously disillusioned many of us, ESPECIALLY seeing the willful ignorance of western states (including ours). Everyday I'm shocked, as I read Guardian, Al Jazeera & even Israeli articles about what is happening, while next to nothing appears in ANY of our media. The horrors of the genocide aside, that willful ignorance is scary in its own terms.
