Consumer NZ finds 44% see housing as NZ's main concern, with 33% saying cost of living & 26% saying Covid; 62% say they're locked out of housing & 58% of owners couldn't afford to buy their homes now
re housing, it has been such a deflation for me to witness this era of a labour led MMP parliament followed by a sole charge term labour government & see them so unwilling to make the serious calls that were once potentially available. But they have completely crashed this issue beyond any fixing with any previous potential options. The only way the current hurtle towards some form of cliff can be avoided is through major disruption, whatever form that may take & be it global or local. Bloody sad state of affairs. playing around with LVRs etc simply channels the goods to they that already have, & is light weight bandaging trying to hold back a boil that at some stage surely must burst.
