PM defends Govt against accusation its actions on housing are breaching human rights, saying it is 'pulling all the levers', acknowledges a crisis and doesn't need to be told again
Saying it as it is and appropriately bringing out and whacking the ugly stick on what appears to be a 'weak' full house govt lacking imagination and practical vision. Many topics covered Bernard and deeply despairing in where the N.Z ship is steering in these trouble waters domestically and internationally. Big shame QE didn't mostly go into infrastructure, business support or social investment but into housing.
Enough insight and expertise from you to turn a prude to sex drugs and rock'n roll. Keep up the momentum and train of golden nuggets.
It's infuriating. The pandemic has clearly shown that the government can fund anything it wants to. There is no shortage of money, so the refusal to fund the necessary programs and services to address the housing catastrophe is not just undemocratic, it's bordering on despotic. Is this government deliberately destabilising society? It's hard not to think so.
I don't think those numbers around how many houses govt built are right. They sound more like total numbers of houses built, mostly by the private sector.
