I wish we could quantify how much of Australia's exhaustion with lockdown's is just simply due to how much of the media is controlled by Murdoch. There seem's to be a lot more FUD coming from these institutions.
I agree the relaxing of elimination will eventuate next year when we get as many of the vulnerable and willing inoculated (more than 70% more 85% + and hopefully the youngest are included) with second doses while assuming delta hasn't already bolted in Auckland but my gut feeling is the jury isn't quite out and I just help but feel the Poker face Govt is crossing fingers but another 2 weeks time will show or we might have to go along the strategy of containing it concentrically from Auckland's epic centre.
As for simply 'living with virus' and what everything might look like in 2 or 5 years time with mass vaccination, covid evolution, individual and cohort antibody profile differences, economic social chances and capital etc etc. I guess is million dollar question. Perhaps it all becomes a bet of Russian Roulette or Tenpin Bowling rounds on who comes off lightly and who is knocked out. I guess my nerves are heighten as 3 out of 4 of my Grandparents where orphans after the Spanish Flu.
We act as bystanders and following an economic model based on WW2 interpretation, expansion (famously identified by Marilyn Waring) and meanwhile climate realities, other global disruptions conversations are legitimised and held by science community.
