Bernard Hickey & Peter Bale chat about the week's news in politics, geopolitics, climate & the economy with Robert Patman & special guests Jessica Palairet, Chris Finlayson & Sarah Dalton
It's time we met you producer Simon Josey for a quick comment on the subject matter of the week and how he would suggest the Hoon might improve to increase its audience. This could be similar to the way Jon Stewart chats to his production team at the end of each of his weekly sessions - and would be a lot more interesting than the time wasted on the skateboarding dog.
That was a cracker show everyone! I especially liked the Oscar Wilde reference at the end. All your guests were good (as usual), but Chris Finlayson was really interesting to listen to. Ex-Nats are not my normal dish of choice, but what strikes me is there is a history of cross-party serious work done in Parliament that is largely invisible but that is thoughtful, careful and actually does think ahead of the next election cycle as well as being knowledgeable of the past. Like so many places in the western world, democracies seem to have elected a slew of what Finlayson politely called "careerists", but that implies at least some length of tenure. Actually, this lot in government right now are a bunch of self-serving, once-over-lightly, chancers. Keep up the good work and the great guests.

Yeah those skate Boarding dogs are possibly the weakest aspect of the show.
Listening to Chris Finlayson speak is like having a gentle brain massage. 😍
