Love the readiness of description of wage subsides tied to 'Institutional racism' and dropping of 'Classism'. As a person with sensory auditory and learning disabilities (so could never advance as peoples threshold and patience for hard of hearing is low and I have influential networks) but still body able at the time to work in the realm of menial work and whom has experience decades of essentially precariat employment and yes knows of the New World supermarket wonders of 'breaking people' that lead to eventual leaving for my own mental health with no acquisition other than been an near 50 very reliable blunt tool that silently disagreed and softly thinking otherwise ... which they hated.
I can't help and feel that nothing has changed meaningfully since the last lockdown but instead have got worst for those in the bottom percentiles of N.Z's K recovery. Now we not only have an established economy of upstairs and downstairs but with higher housing costs and we all know this occurrence is resulted from hiring of management consultancy (https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/02/how-mckinsey-destroyed-middle-class/605878/) hollowing out of middle jobs, globalisation and the emerge and expansion of 'service jobs' eventual economising of chore work ... caregiving and cleaning the hidden economy once touted as the unpaid work which Marilyn Warring talks about who's counting.
So when 'treating' one self to a flat white I wonder if that someone who serves just might as well spit in the cup. While I speak anecdotally I feel the haves might have become so silenced and busied by either been so focused on the mantra of pots of gold capital gains rainbow or paralysed and stupefied from bank excess loan over income that they are ineffectual learned helpless lapdogs. Well at least the Jew Vax (early endorsed and mass adoption by the Israel State) is universal to the all.
