Climate: Minister for Transport Simeon Brown announced changes to the Clean Car Importer Standard that will lower its emissions targets for commercial and passenger vehicles.
Climate: NZTA released its Clean Car Standard Monthly Report for June, which found average CO2 emissions for light passenger and commercial vehicles were 7 g/km higher so far in calendar 2024 than the target average of 151 g/km.
Housing: Minister for Building and Construction Chris Penk announced that the Government intends to progress a requirement for building consent authorities to remotely inspect construction projects by default.
Climate: The Environmental Protection Authority announced that Energy Farms' Opunake Solar Farm has been granted resource consent under the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act 2020.
Housing: Wellington City Council announced the addition of two new apartment buildings for its Te Kāinga affordable rental programme.
Geopolitics: The Australian Signals Directorate released a new joint advisory with its Five Eyes partners, including New Zealand, on China’s state-sponsored cyber group, APT40.
