Bernard this was one of your best soliloquys and a very fitting guest. Really fired me up. Thank you for your tireless work. Not sure if you open up hoon's but if you do, this one gets my vote!

What Sophie said, I'm new to The Hoon & Kaka after listening to some American podcasts like Ihip news, Heather Cox Richardson & 3 Rural White Guys, I went looking for a home grown alternative and found you guys Plus Locked Out.

Priceless, ufortunately it makes goingto the pub ofa Sunday night hard work as the crowd of retirees are very "sorted", pale & stale Winston Peters fans & I had to walk out in disgust last week after the complete rubbish I heard.

Thank you for keeping us sane.

Bernard & Peter, IMHO you guys have really upped you game in recent weeks. You guys seem more focused, allowing more scope for discussion from your guests & Peters context probing questions prompting further exploration of the topics.

Massive Props Guys! 😎

A big thank you and respect to your wife. My wife has YOD and is now in longterm residential care (Coming up to 3 years shortly). I see first hand how skilled these undervalued workers are. That's why I've just written my own Substack post on what the Equal Pay Amendment Act meant to us.

The final section on this week's Hoon was my favourite part of an excellent show. I really need to have Bernard's soliloquy at the end on a loop!

Agree with your comments about Luxon’s political judgement in the coalition formation and agreement, Bernard. It’s good to hear it stated so clearly.

A more astute leader would not have freely granted so much power to extremist parties, nor permitted another party’s policies and priorities to set the agenda.

Thanks for the hat tip to my commentary and questions that hopefully encourage the new PMCSA and Council to support the directions that are needed. A useful followup is an article by Fox Meyer in Newsroom today, outlining how deeply concerned the Parliamentary Commission for the Environment has been about the reform process (or lack thereof). It comes out of paywall tomorrow morning. https://newsroom.co.nz/2025/05/09/environment-watchdog-warns-of-grave-danger-if-science-sector-reform-botched

Only had chance to listen to this now, great Kaka, thank you Bernard. I am so angry with the Pay Equity Bill (along with so many other Bills rushed through under urgency - totally undemocratic). Sign the petition everyone. I really really hope all remember this at voting time next year.

Is there a list published anywhere of the 33 existing claims that have been scratched? And whether they are public, private or public/private?

All public, I recollect. Will find the list.
