Thanks for pointing out the alignment in our petrol prices with the US. There's a lot of people who still seem to believe we are suffering inflation uniquely badly because of government incompetence (closing refineries and oil exploration etc)... Obviously tax is a significant factor in the price at the pump, but harder to blame that on government incompetence when all they've done is (temporarily) reduce it.

Actually 18 US cents tax per gallon is not the equivalent of 44 NZ cents per litre. I make it around 7.5 NZ cents per litre?
