Join my chat today on Budget 2023 after 2 pm
It’s a place inside Substack for subscribers to The Kaka to have a yarn with me and each other about the day’s news in Aotearoa’s political economy. Join after 2 pm today to talk about Budget 2023
Today I’m announcing a brand new(ish) addition to my Substack publication. It’s called subscriber Chat. You may have seen it in the navigation bar when reading my articles on Substack itself, rather than in your email.
This is a conversation space in the Substack app that I set up exclusively for subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. Everyone who subscribes for the free version of The Kākā can see the Chat threads, but only subscribers on the paid tier can comment.
I’ll post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion. I’ve been trialling it for a few months with a few brave souls and it’s working well.
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app, now available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
Chat seems available in the browser as well now.
