Govt to force car importers to reduce carbon emissions from 171g/km to 105g/km by 2025, but NZ still well behind Japan, Europe and UK; No ban on petrol/diesel imports and no electric incentives
TLDR: Ahead of Monday’s big carbon budgets announcement from the Climate Commission, the Government announced it would legislate this year to force car importers to reduce average carbon emissions to nearly 40% to 105g/km by 2025.
