Briefly in the news in Aotearoa’s political economy around housing, climate and poverty on Friday, March 6:

  • A Taxpayers Union-Curia poll due today is expected to show National down to 28% from 31%, with fresh speculation emerging about Christopher Luxon’s leadership1.

  • Jet fuel prices rose 12% overnight as the Iran war widened to Azerbaijan and Israel ordered Beirut residents to evacuate. 2

  • Some airfares have more than doubled in recent days.3

  • The Government is set to dump clean car import standards altogether.4
